Enjoy the highlights of the eastern Dhofar Mountains

The tour begins with a visit to the small fishing port in Mirbat, the former capital of Dhofar.

From here you cycle past scenic Jebali villages and landscapes up into the Jebel Samhan mountain range to a breathtaking plateau at a high of almost 1400m. This location is commonly referred to as the Dhofar's Grand Canyon.

The next stop is one of the world's largest 'sink holes' (211m deep & 150m in diameter), the Tawi Attair, which translates to 'Well of Birds' which means this location is often year-round visit.

Continue through the 'evergreen Wadi Darbat' for a relaxing walk along the wadi bed, surrounded by camels, goats & cattle herds. In the Khareef season (monsoon season), one could also witness a nearly 100m high natural waterfall.

The ride takes us down the mountain to one of the most popular photography spots, the Taqah Plateau, for a fantastic panoramic view from the cliff.

A short photo stop in Mirbat at the Mausoleum of Bin Ali, a classic example of medieval architecture, and the lanes of the former city center, with old Omani mud houses round off the excursion before returning to the hotel.
